APA ITU OSTEOPOROSIS?

Osteoporosis adalah satu keaadan dimana tulang hilang kepadatan yang boleh menyebabkan tulang rapuh dan mudah patah.

Apabila usia meningkat, kepadatan tulang mula berkurangan dan tulang mula menipis. Pada asalnya tulang dapat membaiki sendiri setiap kekurangan secara berterusan.

Tetapi, apabila usia meningkat, berlaku perubahan hormon dan kekurangan pengambilan zat mineral yang diperlukan badan, menyebabkan tulang menipis dengan lebih cepat berbanding dengan proses pembaikian tulang.

Untuk mencegah dari berlakunya osteoporesis, amat penting untuk mengamalkan gaya hidup yang sihat dengan melakukan senaman berkala untuk menguatkan tulang dan menjaga pemakanan seperti mengambil makanan yang mengandungi kalsium dan vitamin D secukupnya

Badan memerlukan lebih kurang 1000mg kalsium setiap hari untuk tulang yang kuat
